Which Electric Vehicle Should I Choose?
This is my unbiased, unendorsed opinion on currently available Makes and Models from Electric Vehicles. I am not sponsored or endorsed by any Vehicle Manufacturer or Charging Company.
I go through the main features that I would look for when purchasing an Electric Vehicle. I include a description of vehicle, photos of the vehicle and even perks. This is my perspective on what I would look for when purchasing an electric vehicle as someone that has been driving fully electric since 2018.
The Chevy Bolt was first introduced to the market in 2017. Since then, they haven’t had to change much. Why? Because they did it right the first time. This has a long range of 259 miles. If you are worried about range at all, just get a Chevy Bolt. It comes with lots of neat tech features. It has: regenerative braking, drive lane assist, forward collision alert, pedestrian alert, a rear backup camera AND a front camera. It has a touchscreen and will analyze your miles/kWh every 5 miles and the range auto-updates as you drive. A very tech savvy car at a great price. If you are worried about range, if you are new to electric cars, or if you love the Chevy brand and know that they make great vehicles, get the Chevy Bolt.

If you want a little more leg room and a little more storage space than the Chevy Bolt, get the Chevy Bolt EUV. It’s a fully electric SUV. It has 39.1” of leg room and 56.9 cubic feet of max cargo. You can see in the photo it’s physically larger than the Chevy Bolt. This is a good family car.
It has all of the features of the Chevy Bolt that you will love. It has a 247 mile range. Technologically advanced, with a 17” touchscreen infotainment center, it has apple car play or Android Auto’ and it even has a Mychevrolet mobile app. Also, the range and miles/kWh will update in real time, every 5 miles.
It has all of the Chevy Safety Features to keep your family safe: Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian Braking, Forward Collision Alert, Following Distance Indicator, Lane Assist and Intellibeam Auto High Beams. Also, Chevy will pay for the installation of a 240V Level 2 Home charger.

This is a fully electric SUV, with a 64.8kWh battery capacity, a range of 253 miles for under $40,000. This is a solid car. If you want a fully electric car, with a long range, but need the space and room that an SUV provides, this is your car. This is a spacious SUV, it has more passenger and leg room than a Tesla Model 3. The 2 Free Years, YEARS!!! of D/C Fast charging are a nice perk.
This car has a digital key which allows you to start your car remotely, remotely lock and unlock your car. The digital key will also connect to your apple watch. You can also remotely warm up the cabin on cold winter days. This car also has a 20” Touchscreen infotainment, which is currently the largest on market. This is a technologically savvy car. There is a Kia connect app which will keep track of your driving statistics.
This is still a safe car. It has: Lane Assist, Highway Assist, Auto Emergency Braking, Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance and 20 other safety features. A safe and affordable car for the family.

This truck is fully electric, but it’s still a truck! It has up to a 10,000lb towing capacity, AWD and it has a Multi-flex Midgate which will allow you to carry large items that are up to 10 feet 10 inches long in your truck bed. That’s so big, Shaq can fit in the back. It has 24” aluminum Alloy rims and a large 17” touchscreen infotainment center. Because it’s a Chevy, it has all 6 Chevy Safety Assist features of: Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian Braking, Forward Collision Alert, Following Distance Indicator, Lane Assist and Intellibeam Auto High Beams. Oh, did I mention this has a possible range of 400 miles.
It has the largest battery capacity on the market, with 200kWh. To put that in perspective that's a 3X larger battery than the Chevy Bolt. That's so much energy, you can drive all day and come home and power your house.

If you want a longer range, and an SUV with more power, a step up from the Kia Niro is the Hyundai Ioniq 5. It has a longer range of 303 miles, up to 320hp and it includes 2 years of FREE DC Fast charging at any Electrify America station. That’s a nice perk. Also, this car is hyper-fast charging capable. That means that you will be in and out of the charging station hyper fast, while other EV drivers are still waiting for their car to charge. To put it in perspective, I’ve seen a car with Hyper-Fast charging capabilities charge from 55% to 80% in 10 minutes. That’s fast!
Range is stated at 303 miles… The battery capacity is slightly smaller, 58.0kWh. It's more realistic that you would get a 250 mile range. Range is variable and depends on 4 main factors. See my thoughts on Range on page 41 of the FREE EV Car Guide.
So for $41,450 you can get a Hyper-Fast, fun SUV with some nice perks! This is a solid family car.

Here you go, here is a Tesla. If you have been wanting to get a Tesla, now is the best time. They recently dropped the price on their Model 3, to $41,990. Price drops don’t last forever, go get your Tesla.
The Tesla Model 3 comes with 18” Alloy wheels, an all black premium interior, a 15” touchscreen infotainment center, front and rear heated seats. This has a long range for an electric car, of 272 miles.
Tesla’s are designed differently, they have a dual motor, which reduces wear and tear on the car. They also come with a 4 year 50,000 mile warranty and an 8 year 100,000 mile warranty on the battery. They are safe. They achieved a 5 Star safety rating from the NHTSA. That’s the highest rating possible.
One unique safety feature that Tesla’s have is called Sentry. Each Tesla will come equipped with angled cameras in the side doors and front and rear bumpers that are motion activated and can take photos or videos if anyone or anything passes by. It’s a great way to prevent vandalism, and to get evidence if anything does occur. I wish other cars had this. Sentry is a great safety feature.
Tesla has the best Tech for any Electric Vehicle. If you love technology, you will love your Tesla.

I see a lot of the Ford Mach-E Electric SUV around. It’s a good SUV. It has a perfect range of 247 miles. It has a larger 68kWh battery. It also comes with 2 years, YEARS!!! of FREE DC Fast charging with Electrify America. That’s such a nice perk. Also, this car is Hyper-Fast charging capable. So you will be done hyper-fast, and other EV drivers will still be waiting for their car to charge. To put Hyper-Fast charging in perspective. I saw a car that was capable of Hyper-Fast charging charge from 55% to 80% in 10 minutes. That’s Fast! It has AWD and a unique front trunk for storage.

The Polestar 2 is a fully electric SUV. It has a 320 mile range and a slightly larger battery capacity with 82kWh. It is Hyper-Fast Charging Capable. You will appreciate that every time you are in a hurry and just need to charge your vehicle.
This vehicle has an android operating system. You can use google maps, stream podcasts or use google home right from your infotainment center. This vehicle even has better than push button start, it has seat start. The vehicle will start as soon as you sit in the driver seat with your digital key.
This car can also tow up to 2,000 lbs. That is a unique feature for an electric car. That will allow you to tow a small trailer or camper. It includes 4 years of FREE roadside assistance and 3 YEARS of Free maintenance.
Lastly, my absolute favorite thing about this vehicle is the company. Polestar is building electric cars because they care about the environment. Right on the website they show you the carbon footprint for the manufacturing of the battery, and they even included vegan leather for the upholstery. They care about zero emissions and the environment.

Tesla vehicles have the best tech. They have a 15” Touchscreen Infotainment center, allow Apple Car Play and Android Auto Play. They also have Sentry, which is a built in 24/7 security system for your vehicle. You can also add self-driving features for $15,000 or Enhanced Autopilot features for $6,000. The enhanced autopilot features include: Navigate on Autopilot, Auto Lane Change, Autopark, Summon and Smart Summon.
This car is still safe, it has a 5 Star rating from the NHTSA. It includes an 8 year 100,000 mile warranty on the battery.
This is a 7 passenger vehicle for less than $50,000. This is a good electric vehicle.

The Ford F150 Lightning is really a work truck. This fully electric truck is designed for hard work.
Let’s talk about frunks. What is a frunk? A Frunk is a front trunk. Because there is no combustion engine under the hood for an electric vehicle, Instead there is space for a trunk. The Ford F150 Lightning has the best frunk. It has 9.6kW of power that can be delivered through 4 120V A/C Plugs in the frunk and two USB sockets. They designed it with enough power to power your power tools. The frunk is also seal coated and waterproof, so if your frunk gets dirty, you can just hose it down. It even comes with a drain.
Also, it has LED lighting underneath the bed of the truck, so that if you are working at night, the truck can illuminate your workspace.

Look, I know that the range isn’t great. Just adapt. But, how nice would it be to not spend money on gas? How much money would your business keep if it didn’t spend money on gas? If you are a good business person, you know that it is necessary for every business to reduce expenses, but also reducing expenses is the same as increasing sales. They both allow you to keep more money.
This van comes in three different body types, Cargo Van, Cutaway Van, and Chassis Cab. It also comes in Three different roof styles: Low Roof, Medium Roof, and High Roof. Lastly, it has three different body lengths: Regular, Regular Long and Extra Long.

This is a good car. It’s a sleek all electric gran coupe. It’s fully electric and has a good range of 256 miles and a slightly larger battery of 70.2kWh, compared to other models it’s size. This is also one of the only electric cars with a moonroof. If you already drive and love a BMW then this car is for you. It’s a really nice perk to get 2 years of FREE DC Fast Charging. 2 years!
A very technologically savvy car, this car allows keyless entry and apple car play has a 14.9” Infotainment display. Lastly there is a My BMW app to keep track of all of your driving statistics.
This is still a safe car. It has: Collision Warning, Blind Spot Detection, Lane Departure Warning, Fatigue and Focus Alerts, a Pedestrian Alert and a rear view camera.

This vehicle also has decent tech. It has a 12” driver side display and a 9” Infotainment center. It has an android operating system, so you can use google maps, YouTube or Google Home right from the vehicle.

This is a fully electric sports car. It can go 0-60 in 4.5 seconds, it also has a massive 90kWh battery capacity. To put that in perspective, it’s a similar size battery to what the electric trucks use. This car also has AWD. The range is stated at 246 miles, range is variable, you may get more than that with 90kWh. If you live where it snows in a colder climate, you will appreciate the larger battery capacity. A sleek and futuristic car. It has cool tech features as well. It has Amazon Alexa, so you can tell this car what to do. This car also has Pivi Pro, which is an onboard map of nearby charging stations created by Jaguar. That is a very useful feature, especially if you are new to owning an electric car. This way, right on your infotainment center, the car will tell you where the nearest charging station is, and help you navigate to it. A very helpful feature.

Let's be honest. This truck is cool. If you can afford this truck, just get it.
This is a massive SUV, 200.8” long 81.6” wide. It fits 7 passengers, has a 3rd row of collapsible seating and 105 ft3 of storage. This is the Shaq of SUVs. This still has a very good range of 260 miles, and battery capacities from 105kWh, to 135kWh all the way up to a massive 180kWh battery option.

These are fast cars. Not to mention these still have the sleek designs and all the features of Porsche that you love. If you are someone that flexes your wealth, this is a car to flex in. Summary
There really is an Electric Vehicle for everyone. There are many good options to choose from; from the affordably priced always reliable Chevy Bolt, to exciting Electric Trucks like the Chevy Silverado, Ford F150 Lightning, and the cool Rivian R1T, to Electric SUVs like the Kia Niro, Hyundai Ioniq5, Chevy Equinox EV, Chevy Blazer EV, Ford Mustang Mach-e ,Polestar 2, BMW i4 and the Volvo C40 all the way to massive Shaq sized SUVs like the Rivian R1S, to finally fast and fun electric sports cars like the Jaguar I-pace and Porsche Taycan. There really is something for everyone. Go Electric!
