What is the Revolt Program?
The Revolt Program is a program that allows you to power your electric vehicle with 100% Renewable Wind Energy at no extra cost to you. FOR THE LIFETIME OF THE VEHICLE. That's a long time. You still have to pay your power company for the energy that you use, but you can rest assured knowing that your zero emission vehicle is powered with 100% Clean Green Energy. This is as good as it gets.
Energy comes from a variety of sources; wind, natural gas, coal, etc. Once it hits the power grid, there’s no way of telling where it came from. However, Your power company will know the percentage of renewable energy sources and the percentage of non-renewable energy sources that it uses. By knowing the percentage of non-renewable energy sources that your power company provides, and by knowing the amount of energy that your electric vehicle consumes, your power company can calculate the amount of energy that your electric vehicle consumes from non-renewable energy sources. With that calculation every electric company participating in the Revolt program will purchase the equivalent amount of carbon off-set credits. In that way, by purchasing carbon offset credits in the exact amount that your electric vehicle consumes, your power company is giving you a 100% renewable wind energy equivalent.
How does the Revolt Program Work?
Example Calculation:
For your power company, 84% of the electricity comes from renewable energy sources, such as Wind, Solar, Hydropower or Geothermal. That means 16% of the energy from your power company comes from non-renewable, dirty energy sources. Let's say your vehicle has a 65kWh battery, and you are charging it from zero to full.
65kWh x 0.16 = 10.4kWh non-renewable energy. In this example your electric company will purchase 10.4kWh of Renewable Energy Credits to offset the energy that your electric vehicle consumes from non-renewable, dirty energy sources.
Currently, there are 3 electric companies that are participating in the Revolt Program.
All of the electric companies participating are part of the Touchstone Energy Cooperative.

If the ReVOLT Program is not offered in your area, Call your local electrical company and ask them to sign up for the ReVolt Program. E-mail them a copy of the the ReVOLT program brochure, or physically mail them a copy. Do your part to help the environment.
